Culver Fire Department Chief Terry Wakefield updated the Culver Town Council that the aerial truck is out for repairs.
During routine annual inspections, a technician who was running the inspection on the ladder left a tool on the apparatus. During ladder training with another company the tool fell down in to the gears box.
According to Wakefield the truck is out of service and on the way to St. Louis for repairs. As of the meeting Wednesday evening, Wakefield could not confirm the extent of the damage or how long the repairs would take.
The company has taken full responsibility for the incident and will cover the cost of repairs.
