Three Teenagers Found Deceased in Car

Indiana State Police Troopers were notified of three teenagers found unresponsive in a car in the area of 10852 West 900 North near Etna Green Sunday, October 30 just after 3 p.m. ET.

An Indiana State Police Trooper from the Bremen Post found 18-year-old Robert Bontrager, of Rome City, in the driver’s seat, and 16-year-old Karen Miller and 16-year-old Nathan Yoder, both of Topeka, in the back seat of the vehicle, according to the report.  Police say they were pronounced dead at the scene.

The families have been notified.

The Kosciusko County Coroner’s Office oversaw autopsies Monday at the Northeast Indiana Forensic Center in Fort Wayne.  A preliminary cause of death is carbon monoxide poisoning, but the results of toxicology tests are pending. 

The Indiana State Police continue to investigate this incident.
