Plymouth City Council Reviews Resolution Amending Economic Development Plan

The Plymouth City Council reviewed a resolution last week that would amend the city’s Economic Development Plan for the U.S. 30/Pine Road Economic Development Area as approved by the Plan Commission and the Plymouth Redevelopment Commission.

City Attorney Sean Surrisi said the plan would be amended for an upcoming project.

“The Redevelopment Commission is seeking to amend the TIF 3 project list to add improvements to Commerce Street in support of the development of a new hotel on Miller Drive,” said Surrisi.

He explained that that the resolution has been approved by the Plymouth Redevelopment Commission and then went to the Plan Commission for review of whether the project is supported by the Comprehensive Plan, which received a favorable recommendation.

The resolution was brought before the council for the review of the recommendation by the Plan Commission and the resolution was approved by the council with a unanimous vote.

The resolution now goes back to the Plymouth Redevelopment Commission for a public hearing to confirm the addition of the project. The public hearing is expected to be scheduled in November.
