Plymouth City Council Holds Public Hearing Concerning Additional Appropriations

The Plymouth City Council members opened a public hearing Monday evening that pertained to several additional appropriation requests.

Clerk-Treasurer Lynn Gorski commented that while the money was budgeted, the first four items on the list were not included in the 1782 notice for the 2022 budget so the funds needed to be appropriated.  Those items include $76,200 from Personal Services to the Fire Pension Fund, $312,200 from Personal Services to the Police Pension Fund, $350,000 from Capital Outlays-Improvements to the Local Road and Street Fund, and $16,800 from Capital Outlays-Equipment to the Cumulative Capital Improvement Fund.

Other additional appropriations include fuel needs out of the General Fund for $49,664, Harrison Street Trail project engineering costs in the amount of $228,800 from the General Fund, K9 training costs out of Fees and Dues to the Crime Prevention Fund, new police cars $41,799.79 out of the Capital Outlays-Equipment to the Cumulative Capital Development Fund, and $114,869 for engineering costs for the Greenways Trail project out of the Greenways Trail Project Grant.

There was an explanation of the process of additional appropriations but no other comments were provided.

Following the public hearing, the council members unanimously approved a resolution that authorizes the additional appropriations.
