Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, Coroner Investigate Fatal Accident

Officers from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department and Marshall County Coroner John Grolich investigated a fatal accident in the area of an access road in the 7900 west block U.S. 6 in Bremen.

An investigation reportedly found a 2016 Mazda3 had been traveling westbound on the access road and for unknown reason left the roadway, traveled airborne over a drainage ditch, striking the ditch bank on the opposite side. The vehicle then came to rest in the ditch.  

Officials say it is believed from the investigation this crash occurred shortly after midnight on October 1, and was not discovered until just before 8 a.m. ET by neighbors in the area.

According to Coroner Grolich, the sole occupant and deceased was identified as 28-year-old Matthew Adsit, of Indianapolis. He died as a result of multiple blunt force trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the report.

The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department and the Marshall County Coroner’s Office were assisted at the scene by the Bremen Police Department, and Bremen Fire, and EMS.
