The Marshall County Commissioners opened a public hearing last week to take comments on the proposed increase in the sheriff’s sale service fee.
It was explained that the company who facilitates the county’s sheriff’s sales increased their fee to $180 per case so it was suggested by Sheriff Matt Hassel to increase the service fee to $300 per case which is the maximum allowable fee allowed by state statute.
There were no public comments on the proposed increase.
The commissioners unanimously voted to suspend the rules and approve an ordinance that outlines that language on the second and third readings.
