The Culver Town Council took action on the 2023 budget last week.
The estimated total of the General Fund for the 2023 budget is about $2.5 million, $378,000 for the Park Department, about $54,700 for Motor Vehicle Highway, just over $16,000 for Local Roads and Streets, $89,000 for Cumulative Capital Development, almost $337,000 in American Rescue Plan Act funds, and $58,000 for the Unsafe Building Fund.
As compared to the public notice on the Indiana Gateway portal, the budget paperwork given to patrons at the public hearing showed a $190,000 reduction in the Motor Vehicle Highway budget as the council previously agreed to purchase a leaf vac machine out of this year’s budget rather than the 2023 budget.
The Culver Town Council members unanimously approved the second reading of the budget ordinance, and then suspended the rules and approved the third and final reading of the ordinance, thus adopting the budget.
