Plymouth City Council Acts on Amended Ordinance Concerning Elected Officials Salaries

The Plymouth City Council members discussed an ordinance Monday night concerning the salaries for elected officials for 2023.

The ordinance addresses salaries of the mayor, clerk-treasurer, and common council.

Councilman Don Ecker, Jr. made a motion to amend the ordinance to freeze the salaries of the common council members, and to keep the same salary for the common council members as what was paid in 2022.  As part of Ecker’s motion, the mayor and the clerk-treasurer’s salaries would experience the increased amount as proposed in the ordinance.

The motion was unanimously approved.

The mayor’s proposed salary in 2023 is $70,634.56 while the clerk-treasurer’s salary is $71,290.65.  The salaries are split between the Water Works Fund, Wastewater Fund, and the General Fund.

The council’s salary is split between the same three funds for a total of $9,222.48, which reflects the 2022 salary.
