The Marshall County Commissioners approved a contract last week with USI Consultants to do design work for a kayak launch in the King Road bridge area.
The idea stemmed from West Township Trustee Terry Borggren who brought the idea to the Marshall County Parks and Recreation Board. The board members agreed to allow Borggren to find out more about the project and see how it could move forward.
The commissioners approved the contract at a cost not to exceed $4,000. If USI pursues grants for the launch project, it would require additional funds.
