Triton Community School Corporation students will be returning to school today.
Superintendent Jeremy Riffle said teachers were involved in a Professional Development opportunity Monday.
“In our Professional Development meeting, we really focused on safety,” said Riffle. “We’re adding some things, one of which is School Guard which every school in Marshall County will be adding. It helps with response time if we ever have an incident in one of our schools.”
As an added layer of security, the school board previously approved the hire of a Staff and School Resource Officer. Steve Watkins will be present on campus throughout the school year.
Riffle added that classroom expectations were also involved in Monday’s Professional Development.
Meanwhile, Riffle said the paving project was recently done at the corporation, just in time for the start of school.
“The lots have been done now for probably about a week, but they’re finishing up the concrete concourses for the football area and the baseball area.”
