The electric rates in the Town of Bremen will undergo a little more study.
Electric Department Superintendent Ben Wright told the Bremen Town Council members last week that he plans on meeting with Clerk-Treasurer Janet Anglemyer to amend the ordinance. He said he discussed some items with a representative from Sawvel to review wages to be competitive so rates need to be adjusted.
He asked the council to add $2.00 an hour for apprentice level and $5.00 an hour for journeyman. He hopes that this will keep the current staff and attract new employees when opportunities are available. In fact, Wright is currently looking for a new employee as one recently left the department.
The council members gave Wright permission to move forward with looking at the rates with a rate amendment to be reviewed in an upcoming meeting.
