BOURBON — Gene Crusie of Surf Internet presented the Town of Bourbon with a gift of gratitude and commemoration of the Broadband Project. “I just want to come down and thank you all for inviting us in to your town. It’s been really good.”

Crusie reported that almost 1/3 of Bourbon residents have signed up for service; normally the provider anticipates 20% in the first year. “This town is killing it. Obviously there was a need but we’re just really happy; happy and proud to be part of the community.”

“When we finish a project I just like to present a momento or a token from the project.”

Crusie creates the commemorative gift in his garage using fiber from the project. The fiber used in the Town of Bourbon Project contained 96 strands.

He thanked government leaders for having Surf Internet in Bourbon. “I just wanted to give this to you and thank you for having Surf in your town. We are honored to be here. It’s a good relationship for us, hopefully it is for you.”

Council President Ward Byers said, “Well, we thank you for the ease of the installation and the project – it’s great having you in town.”
