The Argos School Board discussed entering into an Alternative Program Partnership with the Triton Community School Corporation this week.
Superintendent Ned Speicher said the partnership will allow high school students to continue to receive an education since the closure of The Crossing School.
Speicher stated, “It’s for kids that have historically been dropouts because the regular classroom is really not working for them. So, basically, they go to school for a partial day and then they work a partial day and we help them in the world of work and we get them the credits they need to graduate. Some kids just need another way to be successful.”
Students from Argos and Triton Schools will benefit from the program. Classes will be held at the American Legion Post 68 in Argos where teachers and aides will lead instruction.
The Argos School Board approved the partnership as presented.
