The Marshall County Commissioners approved an ordinance last week that would set forth storage fees for decedents/human remains at the Marshall County Morgue.
The ordinance states that the Marshall County Coroner’s Office will charge $50 per day for the storage of decedents/human remains until release by the Marshall County Coroner. If the remains are advanced in decomposition as determined by the coroner, the fee per day will be $90.
Storage fees will be waived for funeral homes in Marshall County and for a county contiguous to Marshall County with a mutual aid agreement.
The fees will go into effect September 1, 2022.
