Bremen School Board Approves Meal Prices for Upcoming School Year

The waiver previously made available by the United States Department of Agriculture for free school lunch meals during the pandemic is no longer available and students must pay for school meals again this school year.

The Bremen School Board members agreed to increase meal prices following a recommendation by the Indiana Department of Education.  Breakfast will be $1.50, lunch $2.50, adult breakfast $2.00 and adult lunch $4.60. Milk will be 50 cents.

Additionally, Superintendent Dr. Jim White said the board increased the pay for food service workers.

“We are trying to move our food service employees money up a little bit too so we’re putting starting wages up to $13/hr because it’s just so difficult to get individuals. If anyone out there wants a job, they certainly are welcome to apply for one in our Food Service Department!”
