Marshall County Commissioners Invite Residents to Courthouse Rededication

The Marshall County Commissioners invite residents to attend next week’s Courthouse Rededication Ceremony.

The Marshall County Courthouse Restoration and Rededication Observance ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, June 11 for the courthouse’s 150th Anniversary.

County Historian Kurt Garner will welcome attendees at 11 a.m. ET at the top of the ceremony with the recitation of records from June 11, 1872.  Timothy Pletcher, representing Plymouth-Kilwinning Lodge No. 149 for Rev. John Houghton, descendant of John W. Houghton, Recorder 1866-1874, will have the prayer, and the Masonic Ceremony of Rededication will follow.

Remarks will be given by Marshall County Commission President Kevin Overmyer, Marshall County Council President Mandy Campbell, and Circuit Court Judge Curtis Palmer.

Linda Starr will sing “Back Home Again in Indiana”.

The ceremony will take place on the east steps of the courthouse.  In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will be moved indoors to the Circuit Court Chambers.
