Argos Town Attorney Derek Jones will be sending letters to three property owners on Dewey Street pertaining to annexation.
A property owner in that area sent a letter to the town with a request to be annexed into the town. The property is among other portions of a larger parcel that has been divided and the other owners have not expressed interest in annexation.
Jones said the letter will explain the advantages and challenges of annexation and allow them the opportunity to annex. The infrastructure for water and sewer is available, and if the parcels were annexed they would be required to hook up to those town services. Annexation would also mean a different tax rate and other changes, but the property owners will be able to make a decision based on the information given.
The Argos Town Council members approved a motion for the distribution of those letters.
