A police pursuit that originated in Warsaw and ended in Marshall County Thursday night resulted in the arrest of a Bristol man.
Police say the pursuit ended in the area of East County Line Road and 2B Road in Marshall County when the driver, later identified as 27-year-old Ryan Kreft, lost control of the vehicle and crashed. Kreft then reportedly fled the scene on foot. Marshall County Sheriff’s Department K9 Diesel was deployed to track the suspect and reportedly found him hiding under a fallen tree and submerged underwater in a swamp.
Kreft was transported to the Kosciusko County Jail and arrested on preliminary charges of resisting law enforcement using a vehicle, resisting law enforcement by fleeing on foot, criminal recklessness, reckless driving, driving while suspended with a prior conviction, possession of stolen property, and theft of a motor vehicle, in addition to active warrants.
Marshall County Sheriff’s Department officers forwarded information to the Marshall County Prosecutor for review for potential charges for the offenses allegedly committed in Marshall County.
Suspects are presumed innocent unless or until proven guilty in a court of law.
