Election Night Results

It was a rainy Election Day, but that didn’t keep the voters from the vote centers. However, only 4,053 voters out of Marshall County’s 29,466 registered voters ventured to the polls. That’s 13.75 percent voter turnout.

It was not the County Council incumbents night. Of the three incumbents, none were able to hold their seats. In County Council District 1, Will Patterson defeated Heath Thornton by a 513 (60.5%) to 335 (39.5%) vote. In County Council District 2, Mandy Campbell and Deborah Johnson had the closest race with Johnson taking 52.26% (521 votes) to Campbell’s 47.74% (476 votes). For County Council District 3, Nicole Cox won over Jon VanVactor by a vote of 638 (66.6%) to 320 (33.4%). Adam Faulstich took the majority of votes over Steven Harper in County Council District 4, 356 (61.38%) to 224 (38.62%).

In the race for County Commissioner District 1, Incumbent Stan Klotz took 61.67% (2,069 votes) over Trend Weldy who took 38.33% (1,286 votes).

Incumbent Matthew Hassel won over Jeff Wojcik in the Marshall County Sheriff’s race, 2,409 votes to 819 votes.

For the Circuit Court Clerk race, Jenny Bennitt took the majority of votes (1,170) over Ann Anglin (1,144) and Joy Hensley (975).

The Argos Town Council had a close race. The top two move on to the General Election in November. Ed Barcus took 71 votes, Erica Partin took 70 votes, and Bob Byers ended up with 62 votes.
