The Argos Town Council members will be opening bids June 13 for two utility building projects.
Town Attorney Derek Jones explained that the council previously advertised for the project and they later rejected the bids for the two different buildings. Jones said he and Utility Superintendent Jamie Lindstrom have since worked to redo the agreement and the advertisement for bids.
The timetable was adjusted in the agreement. Jones commented that the first building must be completed within 180 days from the issuance of the award. Then there needs to be a few months with no construction so Lindstrom can have time to mobilize items from the old building to the new building and prepare the old building for demolition. Once that is done, the second building project can begin. The second building needs to be done within 18 months within the issuance of the award.
Jones reminded the Argos Town Council members last week that the advertisement indicates that bids will be due no later than 3 p.m. ET Monday, June 13 and the bids will be opened following that deadline. The council members will consider awarding a bid Wednesday, June 15 during their regular meeting.
