The Argos Town Council members reviewed roofing quotes during their meeting last week.
Utility Superintendent Jamie Lindstrom presented roofing quotes for the water building and reservoir in the Industrial Park on Access and Dewey Streets. Royalty Roofing presented a quote of $59,990 and Morris Roofing presented a quote of $53,250 for the tear off and replacement of roofing on the buildings.
Lindstrom asked if American Rescue Plan Act funds could be used for this particular project and Clerk-Treasurer Lisa Mullaney confirmed that it is a permissible use of funds. A contract is needed to present to the federal government for reporting purposes.
Lindstrom said the work would not be until September or October.
The council unanimously approved the lowest quote from Morris Roofing for the project.
Additionally, Lindstrom presented a quote for a new bucket truck. The purchase has been in the five year plan, and Lindstrom found that now is the time to purchase one. All Tech provided a quote of $284,322 with a 20 month lead time, and Utility Truck Equipment provided a quote of $268,175 with a 16-18 month lead time. The truck will feature a two person bucket instead of a single person bucket. It will replace an older truck on the fleet and the plan is to eventually sell the older truck.
The council unanimously approved the lower quote from Utility Truck Equipment.
