Plymouth Council Approves Tax Abatement for Renewal by Andersen Facility

The Plymouth City Council members approved a resolution Monday night that declares the site of a new facility on Miller Drive an Economic Revitalization Area for the purposes of tax abatement.

According to the Marshall County Economic Development Corporation, South Bend Developer Holladay Properties plans to lease a $3.1 million building to Renewal by Andersen as the new headquarters for the replacement window company.

The 25,000 square foot facility will be a distribution center combined with a sales office and accounting functions.  It will serve all of northern Indiana with an estimated 85 employees to start.

The developer is building the site to lease to Renewal by Anderson so Holladay Properties must apply for the real estate tax abatement, according to information from the Marshall County Economic Development Corporation.  Terms of the lease require Renewal by Andersen to be responsible for paying the property taxes and the tax abatement savings will be passed on to them.

Construction is expected to start in June while operations will begin in 2023.
