Culver Town Council Supports Change to American Rescue Plan Act Plan

The Culver Town Council members approved a motion last week to support a change in the town’s American Rescue Plan Act Plan to reflect a recommendation by Clerk-Treasurer Karen Heim.

Heim explained that since the town is receiving less than $10 million in American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds, the town council could use the funding received as revenue replacement.  That would free up the use of the funds to however the Culver Town Council sees fit.  The town could support the Blue Zones initiative with those funds as well as a proposed major water project.

With the town council’s support on the matter, Heim said she will continue to complete a report on ARPA to the federal government and put together a resolution for the next meeting for the council to formally approve the changes.

The Town of Culver is receiving $331,000 in ARPA funds.
