The Culver Police Department was recently granted funds by the Department of Homeland Security to aid in the purchase of body cameras.
Town Marshal Wayne Bean told the Culver Town Council members last week that the total cost of the five body cameras is $11,061 so the town will need to come up with the rest of the cost of the devices minus the grant amount. That leaves $7,061 to come from police funds.
The Culver Town Council approved the remainder of the cost of the body cameras as presented with a unanimous vote.
