Bowen Center Receives Grant for Criminal Justice Coordinator

The Bowen Center in collaboration with Marshall County Community Corrections has been awarded a one year $90,000.00 grant through the Indiana Family & Social Services Administration, Division of Mental Health and Addiction.

The grant will be to employ a Criminal Justice Coordinator to serve as a liaison between the Bowen Center and local Criminal Justice Partners, tracking clients referred to Bowen, providing data, progress reports enduring timely communication to ensure the continuity of supervision and treatment in order to improve outcomes.

Thomas Kinnaird was recently appointed to the position. Thomas has been with the Bowen Center for four years and began in the new role this week.  He is also a facilitator in Trauma Informed trainings for ACE (Adverse Childhood Experiences) Interface and Youth Mental Health First Aid.

The Criminal Justice Coordinator will also serve to assist in the creation of a local Overdose Fatality Review Team in Marshall County. This team will review information from overdose investigation in order to create initiatives for prevention, education and access to resources.
