Marshall County Buildings and Grounds Director Doug Masterson brought forward plans to the commissioners last week for the proposed construction of a storage building for the Prosecutor’s Office.
Prosecutor Nelson Chipman explained that the county pays for three storage units at a cost of $3,000 to store certain documents offsite. Masterson said the construction of a new building for that purpose could save the county that annual cost.
It would be a two-story building with concrete flooring, and heating and cooling at a cost of about $175,000 to $180,000.
The commissioners asked about other needs for storage for other departments, but thought it best to take the time to consider the proposal. They did not make a decision, but may resume discussions in a future meeting.
