The next phase of fiber installation in the Plymouth area began Monday with a groundbreaking ceremony at the St. Michael Catholic Church, hosted by Surf Broadband Solutions.

The multi-million dollar fiber internet infrastructure investment began in June 2021 where Surf officials realized the need for high-speed broadband services delivered to homes and businesses in Plymouth.

The entire project is in 14 phases.  Several of those phases are in the design and permitting stage.  Surf has already constructed a fiber optic network to interconnect all of the buildings for Plymouth Community School Corporation.

Once the project is complete by the end of 2022, about 4,700 Plymouth properties will have infrastructure in place and eligible for connection.
