Amber Cowell is the new executive director of the Culver and Lake Maxinkuckee Visitor Center.
Cowell is the current Culver Park Department Superintendent and will continue in that capacity as she assumes this new community role.
According to information provided, Cowell serves or has served on numerous boards and committees including president of Kiwanis Club of Culver, member of Culver Tri-Kappa and administrator of the Culver Communities Schools and Culver Academies Culver Youth Community Organization. She is also active with the Culver Crossroads Communications and Quality of Place committees and works closely with the Culver Town Council and community organizations, including the Culver and Lake Maxinkuckee Visitor Center, on many initiatives and events such as planning of the expansion of the Culver bike and pedestrian trails, renovation of the Beach Lodge and Park grounds, and planning and coordinating diverse and inclusive town-wide events and fundraisers.
Cowell replaces Matt Keedy as executive director, but he will remain on the board of directors.
Culver Town Council President Bill Githens recognized and congratulated Cowell on her new appointment during last week’s town council meeting.
