MARSHALL COUNTY — Marshall County Highway Superintendent Jason Peters updated the Commissioners during their regular meeting Monday that a sharp increase in fuel costs of 40% to 44% will have an impact on road work this year. “With the increase in pricing of 40 to 44% this will most likely have a slight impact on our road program this year.”
Peters went back through the proposed budget and material costs. “That also does not include the increase in fuel costs which is about 100% more.”
Road work for programs planned for 2022 were estimated at $2,090,810.00. The 40% increase totaled $836,324.00. The department budgeted $1,425,000.00.
