The Bourbon Town Council members recently approved an Intergovernmental Agreement with Tippecanoe Township for the use of Lucas CPR Devices.
The council members approved the purchase of two Lucas Devices in December in the amount of $35,901.78 for use by the Tippecanoe Fire Department and Bourbon first responders. The purchase was made with American Rescue Plan Act funds as the devices have the ability to limit COVID-19 exposure, or other communicable viruses, in addition to providing great assistance to first responders.
The Intergovernmental Agreement allows one device to be in Tippecanoe Township with Tippecanoe Township being responsible for the device.
Bourbon and Tippecanoe responders participated in training on the device in late January.
