Marshall County Health Department officials are recommending masks for all Marshall County Schools.
Officials say there has been a decrease in positive COVID-19 cases in the county over the last few weeks, and a decline in residents seeking testing.
Due to this decline, the Health Department highly recommends masks for all Marshall County schools, regardless of vaccination status. This goes into effect Monday, February 21.
Testing, ventilation, handwashing, and respiratory etiquette, staying home when sick, and contact tracing, in combination with quarantine and isolation, and cleaning and disinfection are still important layers of prevention to keep everyone in schools safe.
Students, teachers, and staff members should stay home when there are signs of infectious illness and be referred for testing and to their healthcare provider for further care.
Health Department officials will continue to monitor the present situation and make recommendations as the situation is evaluated.
