CULVER — The Culver Town Council approved a quote by VersaCourt in the amount of $34,131.08 for the installation of sport court tiles at the Alex Pare´ Basketball Court. The new surface will include lines for basketball and pickleball and a portable pickleball net.
The project is being funded by a grant from the Marshall County Community Foundation in the amount of $10,000 with the remaining $24,131.08 budgeted from the Culver Park Department.
Culver Town Park Superintendent Amber Cowell will provide an update once a construction date is scheduled.
The Council approved Resolution 2022-001 Opposing Legislation Regarding Personal Property Tax. The resolution opposes any legislation that eliminates revenue that the state doesn’t replace and will be forwarded to the Indiana General Assembly.
Tony Mayfield was appointed to the Culver Redevelopment Commission (CRC).
Town Manager Ginny Bess Munroe will be compiling a newsletter to highlight the activities and progress of the Culver Crossroads team.
The Broadband Task Force is working with a consultant on a Request for Proposal (RFP) to be sent to potential providers. Attorney Jim Clevenger will be working with the team to ensure legal liability and compliance. After the consultant and the team review that feedback, the public will be engaged for input on options, followed by an informed recommendation to the council.
President Bill Githens completed a conflict of interest statement for the Culver Union Township Public Library, the Culver Youth Club, and the United Wesleyan Church.
The Council meets again on Tuesday, Feb. 22 at 6:30 p.m; preceded by a rescheduled Board of Finance meeting at 5:45 p.m.
