Marshall County Highway Superintendent Outlines Proposed Community Crossings Matching Grant Projects

Marshall County Highway Superintendent Jason Peters presented a proposed Community Crossings Matching Grant application to the Marshall County Council members Monday morning.

The first call for grant applications is due at the end of the month. 

The proposed projects include Pear from 14B to 18B, Tamarack from U.S. 6 to the County Line, and 15th Road from State Road 17 to Thorn Road.  The estimated projects cost $1,552,440.

The county may apply for up to $1 million in Community Crossings Matching Grant funds. The county’s match would be $552,440.

The council provided support toward the application.  The Marshall County Commissioners will review the application next week.

Peters also presented additional paving projects for funding consideration later in the year which include 1st from Tamarack to the County Line, Sycamore from 9th to Lincolnway/U.S. 30, Union from 9C to 10B, and 12th from North Michigan to Maple. Those proposed projects are estimated at $1.2 million.
