The Argos Town Council members considered updates to protocols for town employees regarding COVID-19 when they met last week.
Regardless of vaccination status, a person who tests positive for COVID-19 must quarantine for five days. If the employee has no symptoms after five days, he or she may come back to work but a mask must be worn for five days. If a person is deemed a close contact, that person must follow the same quarantine guidelines.
If a close contact is vaccinated, the employee does not need to quarantine unless the co-worker tests positive or becomes symptomatic.
An employee will receive paid leave once if he or she tests positive. Other personal time will need to be used following that time.
Employees will need to have temperatures taken prior to the start of the work day.
Newly appointed Council President Charles Randy Snead said the town will adhere to the guidelines of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Marshall County Health Department.
The council members agreed to update the protocols as discussed.
