The Argos Town Council members looked at cemetery mowing specifications when they met last week.
Town Attorney Derek Jones pointed out that Councilman George Null thought it best that mowing and weed-eating should take place at the cemetery within four days especially prior to certain holidays including Mother’s Day, Memorial Day, Father’s Day, Fourth of July, and Labor Day. Lawn care should not take place during any services at the cemetery.
The one-year contract would be active April 15 through November 1.
Clerk-Treasurer Lisa Mullaney noted that if the contractor chosen does not do a good job, then the town should be able to get out of the contract.
The council hopes to open bids for mowing in February.
The council members approved the cemetery mowing specifications with a unanimous vote.
