The Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety members approved a request from the Tippecanoe-Wythougan Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution concerning the display of veteran banners on the city’s street light poles during Memorial Day.

The chapter members are inviting Plymouth residents to recognize and honor veterans and active military by displaying banners for all to see in Plymouth. To be eligible, an individual must have served, be honorably discharged or currently serving in the United States Armed Forces, and have a valid connection to Marshall County, past or present.  The veteran may be living, deceased, POW, or MIA. The Chapter does reserve the right to request verification of military service.

Each 16” X 45” double-sided banner will include the name, branch of service and conflict (if any).

Applications are being taken on a first come, first served basis and will continue through March 15, 2022. They must be fully complete with a high-quality 8 X10 photo of the veteran to honor in uniform. The cost of the banner is $125. Applicants must complete and sign the application attesting that the information submitted is true and correct.
