Plymouth Fire Department Receives New Tanker Truck

The Plymouth Fire Department is the recipient of a new smaller tanker truck, thanks to funding by the West Township and Center Township Board members and efforts by those Township Trustees.

Specifications were drawn up in November 2019 for the smaller tanker to service the two townships, and the board members approved a purchase order to MacQueen Emergency for the vehicle.  The tanker was delivered to the Plymouth Fire Department in October of this year and will be in service in the Center and West Townships in Marshall County.

Tanker No. 6 is a 2,000 gallon truck with a Pierce design built on an International single-axle chassis.  The new truck also has the capacity to serve as an additional pumper truck to fight a fire if needed in an emergency.

The addition of this tanker truck allows versatility to the Plymouth Fire Department and can be used to answer needs in case other trucks are active at a fire scene.

The new truck was purchased at an approximate cost of $400,000.
