The Marshall County Council members reviewed the Sheriff’s Salary Contract Monday morning.
In previous discussions, the sheriff’s salary was frozen for another year at $91,125.58. The fixed compensation is in lieu of the sheriff’s fees he is otherwise entitled to receive as collection fees which would be assigned to the county. The sheriff will also assign all fees from prisoner meal allowances to the county.
He is entitled to medical, retirement, and disability benefits previously established by the county.
The Marshall County Council voted 6-1 in favor of approving the contract as presented. Council President Tim Harman opposed the vote again stating that he is against the fact that the sheriff’s salary was frozen.
