The Argos Town Council members unanimously approved the hire of another full-time EMT when they met last week.
This is the third full-time EMT the council has hired since the establishment of the Argos Fire Protection Territory earlier this year.
The council members hired the last two full-time EMTs with funds from the town’s 2021 budget, as there was an immediate need to hire them. There was not enough staff to keep up with ambulance calls at the time. There were several missed calls, but that problem has not occurred since those full-time staff members were hired.
The newest EMT will be paid for out of Argos Fire Protection Territory funds. The other two full-time EMTs will also be paid out of the Fire Protection Territory funds beginning January 1, 2022.
