Marshall County Highway Department crews and contracted companies for road projects are working to complete projects before the winter weather begins.
Highway Superintendent Jason Peters told the Marshall County Commissioners Monday morning that Tomahawk Trail, Mill Pond Trail, Elm and 18B Road have new millings put down and they are sprayed with a bonding agent. The roads are expected to be included in next year’s road program for chip sealing. Peters said he is hoping to do the same work on Cook Lake Trail with milled asphalt with an application of bonding material yet this year.
Meanwhile, Peters said workers are attempting to complete the county’s Community Crossings Matching Grant program projects for this year. They were expected to finish Pretty Lake Trail early this week and then move to the Culver area to work on South Shore, West Shore and Sage. Muckshaw and 14th Road remain on the schedule for Milestone Contractors North.
Additionally, Highway Department crews will be adding shoulder material this week to 8th Road and 2B Road from State Road 331 to County Line, 1st Road from State Road 331 to Oak Road, Kenilworth from 3rd to State Road 6, Miami from Plymouth-Laporte Trail to State Road 6, and 7th Road from King to Linden.
