Marshall County Community Corrections will have a larger space to meet the needs of the organization following the approval of a lease amendment by the commissioners.
Community Corrections Director Ward Byers presented the information to the commissioners last week. The organization currently resides on the second floor of the Community Resource Center on Adams Street in Plymouth.
Byers stated, “Basically, we are going to move across the hallway to a much larger space to give us more room for our current operations and for future operations. With that, there are five offices already built into it and a conference room that has the ability to be built out into another three offices, if necessary, in the future.”
An increase in space means an increase in lease price, but Byers said there is money in the Community Corrections budget to cover the $2,600 monthly cost.
It will be a four-year lease effective December 1.
The commissioners agreed to pay the cost to outfit the new suite with internet and telephone infrastructure at a cost of $7,596.19.
