Culver School Board Holds Public Hearing Concerning Master Teacher Contract

The Culver Community School Board members opened a public hearing Monday night to take comments on the proposed Master Teacher Contract.

Superintendent Karen Shuman said there were several highlights to the contract that covers the 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 school years.

“We are moving the salary schedule up for beginning teachers at $40,000 who have a Bachelors Degree and $41,700 for those who have a Masters Degree,” explained Shuman.  “We’re doing 25 years on our salary schedule with a max salary at $70,000.  That is an increase of $5,500 from the previous contract for all teachers. We already agreed to take on the two prevent insurance increase for our teachers on their premium.”

Shuman noted there were two people in attendance during the meeting who gave their support toward the agreement.

The contract is expected to be ratified at the next school board meeting Monday, November 15 at 7 p.m. ET.
