Bremen School Board Approves Raises, Teacher Contract

The Bremen School Board members took action Wednesday night to ratify the Teacher Contract and consider staff raises.

Superintendent Dr. Jim White said Classified employee raises were considered.

“While they’re not making enough, we brought all employees up to at least $11.00 an hour, trying to do what we can to help them in those regards,” said Dr. White.

Those raises were unanimously approved along with administration raises, with the exception of the superintendent as his contract is separately negotiated.

With that, the Bremen School Board members also reviewed the teacher contract.

Dr. White continued, “Their contract, per the money that’s been flushed down from the state, which we’re very thankful for, is kind of like a dream contract right now.  Each of the teachers are receiving a $5,092 raise which brings our starting salary up to $42,000 which I think is fantastic and a great move for Indiana in general.  Positive things!”

The contract was ratified with a unanimous vote.
