Argos Town Council Holds Public Hearing for Additional Appropriations

The Argos Town Council members opened a public hearing last week to gather comments on advertised additional appropriations.

Clerk-Treasurer Lisa Mullaney explained that $250,000 was requested to cover EMS salaries and expenses through the end of the year through the cash reserves for the Ambulance Fund.  The salaries were not budgeted in 2021 and the town has spent money to purchase needed equipment for EMS in their budget.

Another request was for $200,000 out of the General Fund for grants which will be used toward the completion of Folker Park and Marshall County Crossroads Regional Stellar Communities Initiative costs.

Additional appropriations are presented as a way to seek permission to spend funds available, but were not specifically appropriated in the budget.

There were no public comments.

A resolution pertaining to the additional appropriations was unanimously approved by the Argos Town Council.
