The employees of the Town of Argos will receive a year-end stipend, thanks to a decision by the Argos Town Council last week.
There were no pay raises this year, but the council approved an addition to this year’s salary ordinance that would give the employees $1,200 at the end of the year as an appreciation stipend. The council members were asked to approve that as part of the salary ordinance so those stipends could be paid out to employees.
The council members voted to suspend the rules and approved that change to the salary ordinance on all three readings.
