The third annual Triton Gives Back day is Friday, October 1.
This is a chance for all Triton School Corporation scholars and teachers to engage in some type of community service from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. ET. Those activities include landscaping around new gazebo at the Miller’s Merry Manor in Culver, window chats with residents at Millers Merry Manor in Plymouth, cleaning windows at The Whitlock in Bremen, packing boxes for wounded soldiers through Operation Quiet Comfort, assisting workers at the Bourbon Library, washing and cleaning cars, talking and playing games with Autumn Trace residents, working at the Bread of Life and the Northern Indiana Food Bank, baking cookies and other activities for service personnel, cleaning and outdoor work at the Plymouth Parks, making fleece blankets to give to Memorial Cancer Center, trail clean up at the Potawatomi Wild Life Park, spending time with kids at preschools, assisting with projects at area churches, putting together crafts for kids at Dustin’s Place, decorating pumpkins and cards for nursing home residents, recognizing law enforcement with activities, and making cards for kids at Riley Children’s Hospital.
Students will also work on anti-bullying posters and assemble first-aid kits, among other projects.
Superintendent Jeremy Riffle stated that the Triton Gives Back Day is a way for students and staff to “actively live out the Trojan Way by thinking of others over self”.
