The Marshall County Council members reviewed several additional appropriation requests Monday morning.
The council unanimously approved a $60,000 appropriation in the Community Transition Fund from the Marshall County Community Corrections Budget to assist in the purchase of furniture for the Saint Katharina Kasper Serenity Place permanent supportive housing project at 1804 W. Jefferson Street in Plymouth.
A $58,421.98 additional appropriation in the LIT Special Purpose Machinery and Equipment line item was on the table for an IT room clean agent suppression system at the jail. Sheriff Matt Hassel said the quote covers wiring and Ryan Fire Protection will take care of the project in the computer room.
“The fire suppression system has to be redone,” explained Hassel. “They can’t have any water pipes running in that building. They’ll have to move the water pipes. It’s all been researched and this is what they say it’s going to cost to do it.”
Money in the fund was already there for a battery backup system the POD which would keep operations functioning if electric was to go down at the jail.
The council members approved that appropriation with a unanimous vote.
Other approved appropriations include $16,251 for the King Road bridge project, and $6,000 for Lake Enforcement seasonal wages.
