Local Art Nonprofit Organizations Receive Funding Help from Indiana Arts Commission

La Porte County and Marshall County nonprofit art organizations have received funding help from the Indiana Arts Commission.

The funding comes from the Commission’s American Rescue Plan Act and the Arts Recovery Program as a direct issuance from the National Endowment for the Arts with additional funds through Arts Midwest.  Statewide, about $834,000 was distributed to 278 nonprofit organizations.

The Arts Recovery Program supports salary support, full or partial, for one or more staff positions, fees/stipends for artists or contractual personnel, rent and utility assistance, health and safety supplies, and marketing and promotion costs.

In La Porte County, funding help supports Michigan City Messiah, Dunes Arts Foundation, Inc., La Porte Symphony Orchestra, and the Jack and Shirley Lubeznik Center for the Arts.  Each entity received $3,000.  The same amount was given to Heartland Artists and Wild Rose Moon in Marshall County.
