Two New COVID-19 Cases Reported Locally

One person from Marshall County and one person from Starke County have tested positive with COVID-19, according to Monday’s report from the Indiana Department of Health.  The same report shows an additional 616 people in the state who have been diagnosed with COVID-19.

There were no new COVID-19 deaths in the state in Monday’s report.

The number of patients hospitalized with COVID-19 symptoms on Sunday totaled 902, which is 220 more patients than last week.

The Delta variant has been found in 100 percent of samples this month.

The COVID-19 vaccine is free and available to residents aged 12 and older.  The closest vaccination site can be found online at www.ourshot.in.gov or by calling 211.

The Indiana Department of Health is requiring all schools to continue to report any student, teacher and staff COVID-19 cases throughout the academic school year. Any cases will be updated Mondays on the state’s coronavirus website.  In Monday’s update, LaVille Junior/Senior High School and John Glenn High School reported less than five new student COVID-19 cases.
