Plymouth Utility Superintendent Donnie Davidson updated the Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety members on sewer projects.
He said the first project began on Kingston Street and Highland Court which was completed last week. West Monroe Street was on the list as well as an area between Lake and Sycamore Street.
Davidson said most of the work is re-lining selected sewers.
“The condition of it is in such a shape and restoration costs are so great that in some cases it’s cheaper re-line it,” explained Davidson. “Basically, they roll a liner down through the sewer, they inflate it, cure it out and it’s basically one solid fiberglass pipe. Then they go in and cut out the sewer connections.”
Those projects should be done soon.
